Esquel
(Chubut, Argentina) pallasite (stony-iron)
Found 1951
Esquel is probably the most beautiful and visually appealing meteorite yet discovered! Pallasites are a mix of olivine crystals encased in a web of nickel-iron and are believed to form the core-mantle boundary layer within an asteroid. Thinly cut Esquel slices are translucent, allowing light to pass through the olivine crystals like a stained glass window.
